Meditation is continuous flow of one thought ......and Which gives immense pleasure of enjoyment which is permanent to you body, mind and soul... Meditation can be done in any posture provided you completely enjoy and aware about the importance if it... For Laymen to understand we cannot do meditation until we master the are of controlling mind and body completely..
What we can start with is first controlling mind by watching it and which in turn will control our breath and then control our body....We can then slowly begin with Dhyanam(concentration) and try to increase awareness about our whole existence as body , mind and soul.......
Once we master the Art of Dhyanam or concentration we can start with meditation.....One who masters the are of Concentration automatically enters the realm of Meditation .....We can do meditation while performing or getting immersed totally into any activity we are performing ....ANY ACTIVITY I MEAN it..
